Workers at the MotorCity Casino Hotel overwhelming voted for unionization and in support of a new contract. 2,000 MotorCity Casino Hotel workers are now part of the Detroit Casino Council -- a coalition of the UAW, UNITE-HERE, the Teamsters and the Operating Engineers. The new contract includes a $1,000 up-front bonus for all MotorCity associates, as well as a 4 percent pay increase in each year of the agreement.
